100th Year / Centennial Details

 

The Verona Fire Department invites all to our parade commemorating the 100th year anniversary of service and the wetdown of the new Truck 12!

The parade will commence at Firehouse #2 and march up to Firehouse #1/Verona Community Center

Staging Begins at 10:30 AM at Station #2
Parade Kicks off at 12:00 PM

Conclusion of the Parade (approximately 1:30) - 6:00 PM at Station #1/Verona Community Center
Start: Station #2 (209 Bloomfield Avenue)
End: Station #1 (880 Bloomfield Avenue)
Parade Route: Through Bloomfield Avenue
Rain date: None: Rain or Shine

The parade will feature new & antique fire apparatus, floats, bands and antiques. The parade will start at Station #2 which is located at 209 Bloomfield Avenue – the east end of town and will end at Station #1 which is located at 880 Bloomfield Avenue – the west end of town, via Bloomfield Avenue.

Immediately after the Parade, the party will begin! Please join us for food, drinks, music, kids amusements, silent auction and fire competitions for kids and adults in honor of our new Ladder Truck & 100 years of service!  This will take place at the parade's destination at Station #1/Verona Community Center!

Fire apparatus parking will be available near the celebration in a secured lot.

 

PLEASE NOTE! This parade will feature the use of air horns, sirens, etc. For those who are sensitive to noise, or those who wish to be away from the noise, 2 quiet zones will be established at both ends of the Parade. These areas are:

The use of air horns and sirens will be prohibited in these areas.

We are located in the western part of Essex county surrounded by; Montclair to the east, Caldwell to the west, Cedar Grove to the north and West Orange to the south.

For those who may use alternate directions, please enter Verona from Mt. Prospect or Route 23 (Pompton Avenue).
